GlocalMe PetPhone Quick Start: From Unboxing to First Call

GlocalMe PetPhone Quick Start: From Unboxing to First Call

Congratulations on your new GlocalMe PetPhone! This remarkably compact device brings together an entire ecosystem of features to keep your pet safe, connected, and truly understood.

It goes far beyond basic tracking, integrating global connectivity via CloudSIM, crystal-clear two-way calling, and a multi-alert system (Radar + Light + Ring) for peace of mind. You can set custom geo-fences, gain AI-powered activity & health insights, easily share your pet's journey with family, and connect with a community of fellow pet lovers—all from one intuitive app.

This simple, step-by-step guide will help you unbox, set up, and make your first call in just minutes. Let's get started.

Step 0 – Give PetPhone a full first charge

Before we open the app or change any settings, we start with power.
Place the PetPhone on its magnetic charging base or connect the charging cable.
Make sure the indicator light turns on.
Let it charge for about 2–3 hours for the very first time.
A full first charge helps the battery stay more stable and gives us enough time

Step 1 – Download the GlocalMe PetPhone app

Next we prepare the control center: the official app.
On our phone, open the App Store (iOS) or Google Play (Android).
Search for “GlocalMe PetPhone”.
Install the official app and open it.

Step 2 – Create an account and allow permissions

Now we connect our PetPhone experience to an account.
Open the app and tap Sign up / Create account.
Use our usual email or phone number and set a secure password.
Log in and follow the prompts to allow:Location,Bluetooth,Microphone,Notifications
These permissions are what let PetPhone update location, make calls, use Radar, and send alerts in real time, so we keep them all enabled.

Step 3 – Power on the device and add it in the app

Once the app is ready, we wake up the PetPhone itself.
Disconnect the charger.
Long-press the power button until the indicator turns on or a sound plays.
In the app, go to Add device / “+”.
Select PetPhone and scan the QR code on the device or on the box, or enter the ID manually.
When binding is successful, we see PetPhone appear in the device list and, soon after, on the map.
This is the moment our dog or cat becomes a recognised profile in the system.

Step 4 – Activate our CloudSIM service

GlocalMe PetPhone uses a built-in CloudSIM, so we do not need to insert a physical SIM card.
But it does need a data plan.
In the app, open the Plan / Service / Subscription section.
Check whether there is an active trial or paid plan.( 1-Month Free Trial. No SIM card,Global coverage of cloud SIM (200+countries)
If there is no active plan, choose a package that fits our region and usage (monthly, yearly, or data pack) and activate it.
After activation, the device should show as online, and the map should start updating normally when our pet is outside in a signal area.
CloudSIM means PetPhone can stay connected across many regions without us changing SIM cards.

Step 5 – Set up our pet profile

Next we give the device a face and a name.
In the app, tap the pet avatar or the profile area.
Enter:
Pet name
Species / breed / gender
Birthday or age
Weight (for basic activity/health estimates)
Add a clear, cute photo of our dog or cat.
These details help PetPhone’s AI activity & health engine build a more realistic baseline for our pet (a 4 kg cat and a 25 kg dog should not be judged by the same numbers).
Later, when we see alerts or activity charts, this profile makes everything easier to read at a glance.

Step 6 – Attach PetPhone to collar or harness

Now we make PetPhone part of our pet’s everyday outfit.
Slide the device into its protective holder.
Attach the holder to a collar (for most dogs) or a harness (great for cats and small pets).
Use the two-finger rule:
We can slide two fingers between the strap and the neck/chest.
It is not so loose that it slides off, and not so tight that it squeezes.
We let our pet walk, sit and lie down, and adjust the position until it looks comfortable and secure.

Step 7 – Make the first call and try voice/music playback

This is where GlocalMe PetPhone really feels like a “phone for pets”.
In the app, open the device page and tap Call.
The PetPhone on our pet will ring and answer automatically or after a short press, depending on the settings.
We speak to our pet through the phone and listen to what is happening around them.
If our plan and app version support it, we can also try playing a recorded message or a short audio (for example, our voice telling them it is OK, or a calming sound).
This first call confirms that the microphone, speaker and data connection all work correctly.

We can also start training a simple behaviour:
Train them to  jump 3 times within 6 seconds to call us.
Over time, our pet can learn to “call home” when they need contact.

Step 8 – Practise Radar + Light + Ring for the last 100 metres

GPS is perfect for showing us the general area; Radar + Light + Ring are made for the final part of the search.
We practise this while everything is safe:
Go outside with our pet in a yard, park or open area.
In the app, open the Find / Radar / Search function.
Walk a little and watch how the radar indicator changes as we move closer or farther away.
When we are near our pet, we:
Switch on the light to make the PetPhone easier to see in low light or bushes.
Turn on the ring/buzzer to follow the sound if we cannot see them directly.
We want this sequence to become automatic:
Map for the area → Radar for distance → Light + Ring for the final lock-in.
If we practise once or twice in a relaxed environment, our hands and brain will remember what to do if our pet ever truly disappears from sight.

Step 9 – Create a Home geo-fence

A geo-fence acts like a virtual boundary on the map.
When our pet crosses it with their PetPhone, the app can alert us.
We start with Home:
In the app, go to Fence / Geo-fence.
Tap to add a new fence and move the map to our home location.
Choose a radius that fits our environment:
For a small neighbourhood or apartment block, often 100–200 m is enough.
For farms or open land, we can make it larger.
Set the behaviour:
Alert when our pet leaves the zone (recommended).
Optionally, also alert when they enter the zone.
Now, if our pet decides to explore beyond the usual area, our phone can warn us almost immediately.
We can repeat the same process for other regular places, such as a park, a daycare, or grandparents’ house.

Step 10 – Share PetPhone with our family and join the community

Safety works best when more than one person is watching – and it feels even better when we are not the only pet parent using this setup.
Family sharing:
In the app, open Device sharing / Family sharing.
Invite our partner, family members or a trusted sitter by phone number or email.
They install the same app, create an account and accept the invitation.
After that, they can:
See our pet’s live location
Receive geo-fence alerts
Call and talk to our pet through PetPhone as well
This turns PetPhone into a small shared safety system around our dog or cat, not just a single-owner gadget.
In-app community:
In the app’s community / feed section, we can:
Post photos and short clips from our walks and adventures.
See how other PetPhone families use fences, Radar and AI health.
Learn tips and real stories from people with similar pets and lifestyles.
The community is not required for safety, but it adds a layer of support, ideas and inspiration around our daily life with PetPhone.

Step 11 – Start using AI activity & health insights

Once PetPhone has been worn for a while, the AI activity & health feature becomes more useful.
Here is how we make the most of it:
Visit the Activity / Health section in the app to see:
Daily active time
Rest time
Basic movement / step patterns
Over the first few weeks, PetPhone learns what is “normal” for our pet and builds a personal baseline.
When activity is much lower than usual for several days, the app can send a low-activity or abnormal pattern reminder.
We can use these insights to:
Notice changes earlier (for example, after a diet change, surgery or during seasonal transitions).
Decide when it might be time to watch more closely or consult a vet.
AI health insights are not a diagnosis, but they are a very helpful early-warning and trend tool that lives in the same device we already use for safety.

Quick recap checklist

For everyday use, this is the high-level checklist we keep in mind:
Charge – Full first charge, then regular top-ups before trips.
App – GlocalMe PetPhone app installed, account created, permissions allowed.
Device – Powered on, added in the app, visible on the map.
CloudSIM – Active plan for our country/region so data and calls work.
Wear – PetPhone attached correctly to collar or harness, comfortable fit.
Call & Play – First two-way call tested, optional voice/music playback tried.
Radar + Light + Ring – At least one practice session in a safe area.
Home fence – Main geo-fence drawn and alerts enabled.
Sharing – Family members added for backup and extra eyes.
Community – Browse the in-app feed, share our own posts, learn from others.
AI Health – Activity & health page checked regularly; pay attention to unusual low-activity alerts.
Once we complete these points, we have already covered almost everything that truly matters in real-world use. The rest—extra fences, deeper health history, more community content—can be explored slowly as we get familiar.
